Daphne Barrera is a bilingual immigration attorney whose work is shaped as much by lived experience as it is by legal training. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, and raised in an immigrant family, she understands firsthand the uncertainty, complexity, and emotional weight of navigating the U.S. immigration system. Her own journey came full circle when she became a United States citizen in April 2024, a milestone that continues to inform her advocacy today.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, magna cum laude, from the University of Texas San Antonio, where her academic focus centered on social justice and community impact. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she served as Secretary of the Latinx Law Student Association and was recognized with the STLA Best Advocate Award for her strength in legal advocacy.
Barrera began her career at RAICES, a nationally recognized nonprofit, working on the front lines of removal defense and representing individuals facing deportation. She later transitioned into private practice, where she continues to focus on both removal proceedings and affirmative immigration matters.
Grounded in both personal perspective and professional discipline, she approaches each case with clarity, empathy, and intention. Fluent in English and Spanish, Barrera is committed to guiding her clients through one of the most important processes of their lives with dignity, precision, and unwavering care.
